THE
MASTER'S SERIES
The
calligraphy in this carving is based on the actual calligraphy
of O Sensei (Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969) - The founder of
Aikido). The Master's Series of carvings features the
interpretation of a master calligrapher's work, set into stone
by Maui Artist Guy Junker.
This sculpture is carved on natural slate and includes a hanging
framework made of bamboo and jute. The
Japanese calligraphy reads "Aikido" and roughly
translates to "The Way of Harmony of the Spirit".
